Goodbye Malta...for the last time!

I arrived in Malta for only one night. My airline ticket had conditions on it which meant I had to get on in Malta to Australia :( Therefore, I had flown from Paris to Munich, Munich to Malta, Malta to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Singapore, Singapore to Sydney :(

Anyway, enough about that! My last night in Malta was spent with the remaining students in the Residence. A dozen of us, compared to 150 that were there during semester! We went to Sliema for our last dinner together, then hung out around the pool. Temp 30 degrees! We had to sleep on the roof of our apartment because it was too warm inside.

At the airport the next day, the last person I was to see in Europe was my bestfriend Lucie (French)-very very sad moment. She had to rush off to her plane and me to mine.

Goodbye Malta and Europe-I've had one of the greatest experiences of my life.

Bavaria-Germany

I flew in from Paris to Munich on an early flight with Germanwings. Marcus and Brittney picked me up and we went to find the small town from which her ancestors came from. It was a tiny place and we then enjoyed a packed lunch (provided by Marcus' Mum) in the green fields of Bavaria.

When Addie and Belton arrived, we bumped into Kate and Morgan in the airport-that was a fantastic reunion before we all finally went our separate ways. After that, we took the americans to IKEA (not that popular in the USA) hence the dining room scene. The beer, pretzel and white sausage are typical bavarian foods. The church is the tallest church in Europe.

That evening Marcus took all of us for a walk along the Danube, and then we enjoyed a local Bavarian beer.

Eiffel Tower and other monuments

My friend Tabea took me on a tour of the city. We saw the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triumph. But I preferred the smaller ally ways and cute streets.

Chateau of Versailles

Today, Tabea and I went to the famour Chateau de Versailles of King Louis XIV. The extravagance of the palace was a bit much for me, but the gardens were beautiful and well worth the visit.

The Orange Garden, my favourite.

Tabea and I

The Gardens stretched on for ever, in the distance you can see the lake which is shaped like a cross.

Me hugging a scrub.

The Lourve

Many people have said to me that the Lourve can't be done in a day...well i did it in a day! All you need to do is pack a lunch with plenty of water and to go on your own! The Lourve was truly amazing! The building itself is extraordinary and I advise everyone to see it. It took me 6-7 hours to walk all the halls of the Lourve, but it is possible! The Egyptian and Mesopotamian collections are incredibly!
